Stormsaver Enables Local Council to Save Over 4.5 million Litres of Water
This office has achieved an impressive milestone in sustainability, saving over 4.5 million litres of water thanks to a Stormsaver Rainwater Harvesting System. Since its installation, the system has relied on only 100,000 litres of mains water, demonstrating the extreme efficiency of a correctly specified and maintained rainwater harvesting system.
The Stormsaver System supplies non-potable water to 38 toilets via our popular non-pressurised arrangement, supported by a 20,000-litre rainwater storage tank. Rainwater is collected from a roof area of 302 m2, ensuring an ample and sustainable water source and preventing this stormwater from entering the external storm drains.
The non-pressurised arrangement was deemed an ideal water reuse solution for this building type due to the specification requiring high levels of reliability. In addition to excellent reliability credentials, this style of system also offered the maximum flow rates possible, enabling a continuous supply of rainwater for the high-occupancy building.
Stormsaver has also maintained the system since its commissioning in 2016, which has ensured consistent performance and reliability. The system has achieved an exceptional 98% efficiency, highlighting the potential of rainwater harvesting in reducing mains water dependency and supporting sustainability goals.
