Having been in operation for many years, the old rainwater harvesting system was causing many issues for the school, often resulting in no flushing toilets.
The reliability issues were a result of a ‘pressurised’ style system which failed to offer the site sufficient internal storage capacity and included no protective features against a component failure; two common issues with this system type. As a result, the school was reliant on a non-compliant bypass.
Our specialists were able to swiftly recommend, manufacture, and install a new reliable system that was more suited to the site, allowing the site to remove their non-compliant bypass.
The replacement came in the form of our StormStation Rainwater Harvesting System. Our in-house design team was able to modify the controls of our StormStation to suit the bespoke site requirements, enabling the use of the existing 18,000-litre below-ground storage tank in addition to the 5,000-litre capacity in the new StormStation, increasing the water-saving potential of the system.
In just two days, our engineers were able to fully decommission the old system, install and test the new system, and fully hand the site back over to the facility management team.
