How will you personally make a difference?

Your responsibility as tank clean specialist team leader is to complete jobs on time, to the highest quality standards and to ensure all water reuse systems in our care operate efficiently to deliver optimum savings for the client. Your work will help to promote Stormsaver and its activities to potential and existing clients, creating new opportunities, strengthening relationships and kickstarting continued business growth.


Your activities will uphold our reputation with our clients and keep water reuse and its benefits, in the forefront of the sustainability agenda, and be crucial to our goal of water reuse becoming the “norm” in all buildings in the UK. If the systems work well, people will want more of them and the industry will grow. Your role is crucial to us achieving our vision.


You will work closely with all departments in the business to ensure we deliver excellence to our customers throughout the maintenance process and that you continuously improve your knowledge of our products and the industry. As part of trusting you with these responsibilities we expect you to be accountable for excellent and timely delivery of your work, to really take ownership of your particular area in the business and to take pride in everything you do.

Working away from home

The majority of your time will be spent travelling and visiting client sites across the UK which will require you to stay away from home 4 nights a week. Once per month you will also spend time at the office re-stocking your vehicle and assisting colleagues in the workshop. You will normally travel in the company van alongside your team.


You will be given a schedule to follow each week. This may require longer hours than contracted in order to accommodate travel. You’ll often need to think on your feet and come up with solutions to problems, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and sound judgement skills.

Key responsibilities - Tank Cleaning 

  • This is a unique type of product and full training will be given for you to gain the knowledge to succeed.
  • Read, understand and follow all instructions set out in our installation and O&M manuals for all of our product ranges.
  • You will be responsible for carrying out the cleaning of storage tanks (above and below ground).
  • You will be responsible for the team and their conduct on-site, ensuring they’re delivering a good service in line with our brand.
  • You will be responsible for carrying out on-site toolbox talks, completing site safety checklists and confined space entry paperwork and getting all paperwork signed off by the client on site.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the van and all equipment required to perform tank cleaning.
  • Know how to identify issues with water quality and how to resolve them, including recommending tank cleaning and legionella testing.
  • Carry out remedial works and repairs to the highest standard.
  • Understand the requirements of WRAS and the British Standard BS EN16941.

You should know how to carry out the following tasks to the highest standards;

  • Filter runner replacements
  • Pipework upgrades / alterations
  • Non return valve installations
  • Inlet calmer replacements
  • Have an understanding of booster pumps
  • Safely isolate the electrical supply.
  • Replace free-standing pressure vessels
  • Replacement of UV filtration bulbs


• Provide a detailed report once the work has been carried out, including photographs and any observations.
• Work to meet your individual and team KPI’s in terms of work quality, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver the highest levels of customer service in everything that you do and understand that you are representing Stormsaver to the general public at all times.
• Always abide by and adhere to the RAMS provided and general health and safety requirements on site.
• Provide comprehensive training for new engineers in the maintenance team. Nurture and encourage them to meet their full potential.

 

Skills 

You will need to have: 

  • A full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at a work.
  • Eagerness for training and be happy to work towards SSSTS and CSCS, working at heights and working in confined spaces qualifications, if not already achieved.
  • Completed a safe isolation course or be willing to complete it.
  • Computer literate with experience of the basic Microsoft packages.
  • A team player.
  • Enthusiastic, personable, friendly and hardworking attitude.
  • Ability to think on your feet, have sound judgement and be self-motivated.
  • Flexibility to travel around the UK and stay away from home up to 4 nights a week with hotels and food budget.
  • Organised and methodical, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and confident telephone manner.

Experience 

Whilst not essential, it would be an advantage to have the following experience:

  • Have worked within the construction industry, water industry or similar field in a supervisory role.
  • Worked with pumps.
  • Confined space experience.
  • Health and safety knowledge.
  • Commercial cleaning practices.
  • Experience leading a team.
