Stormsaver celebrate 20 years at The London Aquarium
Last Thursday, Stormsaver hosted a water-themed extravaganza at The London Aquarium to celebrate 20 years of saving water. The celebrations bought together our 40-strong team, our suppliers, our customers, and other figures from the wider water industry.
The water-themed extravaganza saw guests bask amongst the iconic shark tank for an evening of entertainment from a saxophonist and bubbleologist, speeches from our founding directors, and lots of great food. Stormsaver would like to thank everyone who took time out of their weeks to celebrate this huge milestone with us.
Michael, CEO, and co-founder of Stormsaver spoke about his ‘light bulb moment’ during his speech and went on to talk about his journey from seeing ‘rainwater coming out of a downpipe during a university lecture’ to developing and installing ‘the UK’s first commercial rainwater harvesting system’ at Nottingham Trent University. Michael reflected on some of the amazing charity work the company have done in the past 20 years, before speaking about our future product developments, including ‘tracking weather patterns to combine rainwater harvesting and artificial intelligence and collecting water from humid air’.
Michael then handed over to Lisa Farnsworth, Managing Director, and co-founder, who spoke about her journey from ‘studying theatre design at Nottingham Trent University to a temporary job selling IT courses’ where she caught the bug for selling and helping people. Lisa said ‘if you had told me I would have a career running my own manufacturing and maintenance business then I would never have believed you’ but continued to say how much fun she has had a long the way. Lisa concluded her speech by thanking the Stormsaver Team, and everyone who has helped the company to build up to this milestone.
