Retrofit System in Existing Supermarket

Having installed 126 rainwater harvesting systems across their estate, the engineering team had first-hand experience of the excellent reliability of Stormsaver products compared to less experienced manufacturers. The knowledge of water reuse was coupled with a goal to make their existing infrastructure achieve greater water efficiency.

The client was able to take advantage of our unique retrofit service which fully managed the process from initial sizing of the rainwater harvesting system through to installation. Our retrofit specialist advised that our StormStation would be the best solution for retrofitting to the existing store due to the easy installation of the unit. StormStation combined pumps, tanks, filtration, and controls in one unit eliminating the requirement for costly excavations.

As well as installing the system, the client also uses Stormsaver to service their entire network of rainwater harvesting sites across the UK. On the system’s first service visit, our engineer discovered that the StormStation had recycled 297,000 litres of rainwater in just 6 months. This is the equivalent to 66,000 toilet flushes within the store and covers a total of 70% of their non-potable water demand.
