What is your role at Stormsaver: Founder & CEO, I am responsible for the overall vision and direction of the business.

Stormsaver's Vision: 

A cleaner, greener world where everyone has access to fresh, safe water and sanitation.

Specialties:

Over the past 20 years I have worked across all business disciplines, with experience in research and development, sales and estimating, marketing and communications, business development, and manufacturing of systems. In the early days I would often build and commission systems during the day and return to the office at night! I also act as an industry spokesperson to ensure our sustainability credentials are heard at all levels, including government and commercial sectors.

I have had many opportunities to develop my entrepreneurial skills. However, it has not been an easy ride and during the journey, I have had to battle numerous setbacks which I needed to overcome to develop a successful business.

I now lead the UK’s leading rainwater harvesting company from a self-designed, sustainable office and manufacturing facility. Not only do we collect our own rainwater, but we reduce our own carbon footprint by generating our own power using photovoltaics.

My top 2 water saving tips:  

Drink tap water; one litre of bottled water consumes 5 Litres in its production. Over 7.7bn single-use bottles go straight to landfill in the UK each year, so invest in a reusable bottle. UK mainswater is amongst the best in the world, it costs about £2.50 for 1000 Litres so tap water will save you money too.

 And, not surprisingly: Save for a rainy day. The UK has 18 times more rainfall than the net consumption of the population, so it is time to start collecting it.
